Brand Identity & Motion.
Millennium Gallery: ‘Colour’ Exhibition Campaign
The Brief:
Create 3 animated motion graphic marketing assets for the Millennium Gallery’s upcoming ‘Colour’ exhibition. Each video needed to capture the theme of the exhibition while targeting 3 distinct target audiences:
Families with young children (engaging, fun, and playful)
Art lovers & gallery regulars (sophisticated, elegant, polished)
First-time gallery visitors (dynamic, inviting, and high-energy)
The Concept:
Inspired by research into modern digital posters, gallery culture, and colour theory, the concept centres around bold colour patterns, clean geometric shapes, and distinct motion styles to match each audience’s personality. The visual system uses movement to convey discovery and creativity while maintaining brand consistency.
Brand Consistency & Output:
All informative typography uses Caslon Doric to stay fully aligned with the Millennium Gallery’s brand identity guidelines.
Each animation is designed as a seamless loop, making them ideal for digital signs, social media ads, and continuous display screens.
1) Character Colour Poster (Target: Families & Children)
The look: Bold, playful letters designed as unique characters inside soft cream circles to keep things fun and bright while also being easy on the eyes.
Motion: Lots of energetic bouncing and personality. Each letter moves in its own way to keep the child’s attention and keep it engaging.
2) Rainbow Colour Poster (Target: Art Lovers & Adults)
The look: Bold, clean off-black lettering with smooth, lines of colour weaving through the letters. This gives off a more relaxed and sophisticated feel.
Motion: The smooth, flowing wave animation creates a calm, hypnotic loop that feels polished and simple.
3) Peekaboo Colour Poster (Target: First-Time Visitors & General Public)
The look: The design changes from being minimalistic and plain to high-contrast, dynamic and vibrant. The text also changes to ensure it stays easy to read against the background.
Motion: A paintbrush ‘paints’ the screen to reveal an energetic layer of moving shapes, giving it a fun surprise element that catches people’s eyes while also showing how colour can change everything.
Meg Grows Plants: Custom YouTube Intro/Outro Package.
The Brief: Create a simple but fun space themed animated logo introduction teaser based off of the given text.
The Concept: Using asteroids to reveal the text while there are orbiting planets to carry the space theme. Perspective flies through stars to reveal the logo.
Personal Touches: The waving astronaut adds some personality and extra movement to promote engagement.
Logo Animation: Space Themed Logo Teaser.
The Brief: Create a cozy YouTube intro/outro package for a gardening and lifestyle YouTuber.
The Concept: A “doodle sketch” aesthetic featuring organic textures and jittery animation to add personality. Keep visuals calm and engaging to match the channel. Theme of growth, tactile, and life throughout.
Personal Touches: Integrated custom illustrations of the client’s bees and chickens to add an authentic, personable layer to the brand, and as an easter egg to full-time viewers.
